+	- Initially had the name "DiscoVision"
+	- Jaws was the first movie on LaserDisk
+		- new formats needed blockbuster films in order to take off
+	- Many extended cuts and special editions were launched on LaserDisk

+	- Quality was much higher than VHS
+	- Allowed for stereo sound and then eventually 5.1 surround
+	- Length stored on one disk was either 30 or 60 minuted depending on the format
+	- would have to flip side of disk or disk partway through movie.
