Talking points: - introduce Hi everyone, in case you do not know who I am I am Ben, the president of this team for about another _ minutes. This is my fourth year on the team and throughout my time I have worked on and with every department. When I was a freshman starting high school the first time I saw that Lincoln had a First Robotics team there was no doubt in my mind that I would join it as soon as I could. I have always loved understanding how the world around me works and for my entire life I have been taking things apart, putting them back together and trying to invent new solutions to problems that I come across. When I first joined the team I started in the controls department since I had been coding for many years before and thought that I could be the most helpful there. After a year of helping to design, code and test robots, I was hooked. I took an interest near the end of that year in the electrical systems of robots and with not many members of the team knowing how to wire a robot I decided to learn how so that I could help the next year. Because of this I became the electrical and pneumatics lead and was the primary person to wire the robot. I learned a lot that year about working between departments and communicating what needed to happen to a variety of people. Even though I was not initially elected, the next year I became the controls officer shortly into build season. Stepping into this role pushed me to think more about the bigger picture and focus on ensuring that the department was meeting its goals. After the experience in that role I decided to run for president and was elected by the team just over a year ago. Over that year I have seen this team grow so much, whether that be in the number of dedicated new members, the team's willingness and eagerness to learn or how far we progressed in our competitions. Now, getting to district championships is an incredible achievement for this team, I t
